Finally Christopher Raeburn held one of their famous sample sales when I wasn't on the other side of the world or exhibiting at a show! Amazed to be greeted by a giant inflatable tortoise (named Terry, so I was informed).
It was great to again see the uber talented designer himself, whom I met last year in Tokyo of all places, where we found we had several mutual friends and I used to go to college with his brother Graeme, who is also a super talented designer (for Rapha).
Although familiar with and a fan of Christopher's designs, I'd never actually tried any on before. Well can I just say wow. I knew the clothes looked good and I knew they were cleverly cut and impeccably well made, but I didn't realise just how absolutely, amazingly fabulous they feel to wear! It was really difficult not to buy everything in sight, but eventually I limited myself to one garment and one accessory.
I chose this wool bomber from their AW13 Signal / Optics collection. I seriously cannot wait for winter to come so I can wear this!
As for the accessory... well who could resist a bag that doubles as a pet?! I loved the way it actually fits to the shape of your body when it's worn. I looks like it's climbing down my side!
My friend nabbed herself one of their famous lightweight parkas for a quite ridiculous price. I wish I could post a pic of her in it here, but she's way too camera shy.
Unfortunately this sample sale is now over, but whatever you do, make sure you're at the next one!!! Like Christopher Raeburn's facebook page and you'll get a heads up next time they hold one.

My very first blog post!
Welcome one and all to my new blog!
Finally, finally, finally I am sorting out my abysmally outdated website. My fancy new website has a blog - ta-da! The big question is whether I'll find the time to actually post on it...
Well you have to start somewhere right?
