PechaKucha (Japanese for chit chat, or lively talk) is a presentation format of 20 slides for 20 seconds each; a total of 400 seconds.
It was created in 2003 by architects Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham of Tokyo's Klein-Dytham Architecture, out of a desire to "talk less, show more," (apparently architects are known for talking too much! ).
It has become a way for designers to show their work, tell their stories and exchange ideas in 6 minutes 40 seconds
20 slides. 20 seconds of commentary per slide. It’s a simple, engaging and authentic format. The ultimate show and tell, if you will.
MADE MAKERS PECHA KUCHA EVENINGS
Every evening of Made Makers, the online craft fair, four makers will tell their stories on Zoom, using the presentation method of Pecha Kucha. Each maker will talk live over their visual slide show and tell their story in that mere 6mins 40secs!
It will be an exciting and dynamic way to get to know some of the exhibitors of Made Makers Online and discover their backgrounds, techniques and maybe even secrets. Who knows what you might learn during these bitesize talks!
Please sign up in advance (A.S.A.P!) for one or all of the four Pecha Kucha evenings.

THURSDAY 5th NOVEMBER 8pm (GMT)
Thursday marks the first of four PechaKucha evenings during the online contemporary craft fair Made Makers Online.
As one of Thursday’s speakers, I will share with you my journey from fast fashion to slow craft, charting my background in constructed textiles, jobs in high fashion and why I now run my own small, sustainable knitwear label in London: CHELACHE.
The full line up of speakers that evening are:
Layla Chelache (textiles / knitwear)
Carolyn Tripp (ceramics / porcelain)
Ciara Bowles (jewellery)
Sasha Wardell (ceramics / bone china)
